Piraeus flat
The flat near Zea Marina in Piraeus is situated in a 1970s terraced house with a spiral marble staircase and a bas-relief in the lobby. The flat comes with a corner terrace that exceeds the living space in area. During the design process, it was discovered that half of the flat’s windows had been completely blocked off along with part of the terrace, and the bathroom had been moved to the balcony. All these windows were successfully restored to their original positions and the terrace was opened up. The bathroom was relocated to where it should be (next to the water pipes) and enhanced with a glass block light opening. Now the flat faces all four directions and is filled with sunlight. The windows offer views of the marina, port, and old town
