A 1990s brick dacha—characterised by its low ceilings, high windows, and complex roof covering an unheated loft—underwent a comprehensive redesign.
Windows were extended to floor level, creating a panoramic view of the surroundings, while the internal staircase was reconstructed as a light-filled glass structure. The complicated roof geometry was simplified into a clean double-pitched design with extended eaves. Underneath, a full loft was developed, featuring a two-metre circular window and a dedicated cinema room.
The original red brick exterior is now concealed behind a three-layer wooden screen of beetroot-coloured slats. Lighting integrated within these folds dramatically transforms the home’s appearance at night. The building is surrounded on three sides by a terrace and a glass veranda that offers views of the surrounding pine forest.
Through these modifications, a typical post-Soviet dacha was reinvented as a contemporary residence with distinctive architectural character.
