This three-sided apartment in the southern suburbs of Athens overlooks Mount Egaleo and the Acropolis. A typical Greek polykatoikia with modernist aspirations, featuring spacious balconies and marble floors from the Ioannina quarry, the building captures the essence of the Athenian Riviera. The renovation opened up the space between kitchen and living room, illuminating the communal area with three panoramic windows. The bathroom was divided into two separate spaces for practicality, and an old built-in wardrobe was transformed into a child’s playhouse. The distinctive Attic light informed the choice of matte white for walls and ceiling. Mirrors and marble reflections enhance the overall lightness of the space. Traditional glass blocks unite the bathrooms through shared light. Various hidden and visible lighting options allow for flexible arrangement of the space during evening hours
